F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Questions
What are the advantages of our mounting systems?
Jun 5, 02:06 AM
#1 Our products are anodized in order to prevent damage from other hard objects and outdoor elements.
#2 Screw to torque and size VS conventional mounts: Both the scope clamp and base use the #8-32 socket-head cap screws which have an average yield torque of 78 in-lbs. and an average yield force of 1960 lbs. These values are much greater, and therefore stronger, than the #6-40 screws used by others (45 in-lbs and 1270 lbs).
#3 Installation is performed easily because there aren’t any multiple components to contend with. BKL uses the same #8-32 screws for both scope ring and base clamps. One 9/64 hex wrench tightens all.
#4 The corners of the inside diameter (where the scope sits) of our scope mount is radiused to prevent scope damage.
#5 Our clamping system self aligns as it tightens down on 3/8” and 11mm dovetails.
#6 No lapping required.
